I.P.A. (India Pale Ale)- During the heyday of the British Empire (circa 1790), several English breweries created a special beer designed to withstand the rigors of shipment to India and other remote colonies. The bitter finish is from an abundance of hops added to the beer, which acts as a natural preservative. They called it “pale” because, though amber in color, it was lighter than the most popular beer of the period, Porter. Our IPA is an American interpretation of this famous British style, using American malt and a large dose of Centennial and Cascade hops. (O.G.- 1.058 IBUs 55)
Oatmeal Stout- This traditional beer style is a perennial customer favorite. Like all stouts, it features the coffee-like taste of roasted barley; what distinguishes oatmeal stout is the body and silky smoothness of oats combined with the sweetness of caramel malt. Hops play a supporting role, providing just enough bitterness for balance. As always it is unfiltered. (OG 1.064 -- IBUs 27)
